My name is Tania Beard and I thought it would be good to share some of my story with you, so you can get to know me a little before we meet for the first time... I love the outdoors and one of my ‘happy places’ is walking with my dog Blye, just the two of us, or with our friends - two and four legged! I feel incredibly fortunate to live in East Devon with access to wonderful beaches, woodland, clifftops and Dartmoor – what a joy! I love entertaining family and friends as this gives me a wonderful excuse to try out new recipes, arrange flowers, light lots of candles and, of course, spend precious time with the people I love.
I spent many years working in the Health and Fitness industry before training to become a primary school teacher. I adore spending time with children and particularly love sharing stories with them. My last role in education was as a headteacher of a large primary school and, when I left, my gift to the children was a large, wooden, story telling chair, which was placed in the forest school, with ‘Always make time for stories…’ carved on it. After my career in education, I went on to qualify as a celebrant and I am very proud to have trained and qualified with Civil Ceremonies Ltd who are the only training provider in the UK to be rated Outstanding.
I love being a celebrant! I am fascinated by people’s stories and the fabulous thing about being a celebrant is that I get to hear your stories and craft them into meaningful ceremonies that celebrate the milestones in your lives. I can promise that, when you work with me, I will be committed to delivering a ceremony that celebrates you, your story and gives you precious memories to take with you as you travel on through this wonderful adventure, we call life!
